After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2008, I immediately changed the way I ate and saw dramatic improvements in my health. But, as I read more and more about what we put into our bodies, I became more aware of the toxins in our health and beauty products. I made the decision to only put onto my skin things that I would also feel comfortable putting into my mouth. As I searched for commercial products that fit this description, I soon realized there weren’t many, and those that did exist were not in my budget. So, I began making all my own products: soap, lotion, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.
Once I had kids, I became vigilant about the products I allowed into my house. Besides a few homeopathic remedies, I made everything that went on or into my children. This included teething gel, vapor rub, diaper rash cream, etc. When I started making these products, I bought peppermint, clove, tea tree, eucalyptus, lavender, and lemon essential oils from my favorite supplement company. I started researching other ways to use essential oils, and was excited when I found information about how to treat common discomforts with peppermint and clove oils. I tried using them but found no relief. Let me just tell you, I HATE taking acetaminophen. I have never and will never use it on my kids (see why HERE) and as a breastfeeding mom, I am concerned about it reaching my nursling through my breastmillk.
Fast forward to when I got my Young Living Premium Starter Kit. I immediately started using the oils in all the products I was already making, and was happy with the results. One day, I felt some minor discomfort and remembered what I had read about peppermint and clove. I went to my “medicine” cabinet and grabbed my new Young Living oils. Peppermint on the temples and back of my neck and a drop of Thieves (which contains clove) to the roof of my mouth.
Immediate relief. I was completely sold on the purity and value of Young Living oils. I will never, ever use another brand again. Young Living’s Seed-to-Seal guarantee is unmatched in the Essential Oil industry and has become the biggest reason why I feel confident in using and promoting these amazing oils.
